Regular Part Time 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1112 Salary Range: $25.00 To $35.00 Hourly 2 Days/Week | 8:00 AM-1:30 PM | $25-$35/hour DOE Christian homeschool family seeking an engaging, thoughtful, and dependable part-time instructor to work with four high-school students two days per week. The primary focus is English, writing, history, literature, humanities, biblical worldview, independent thinking, and critical discussion. An established homeschool curriculum is already in place for English and humanities; the instructor will review, update, prepare, and facilitate the existing curriculum rather than create a program from scratch. Math and science are primarily self-guided and do not require direct instruction. Responsibilities Review, update, prepare, and facilitate the existing homeschool curriculum in English, writing, history, literature, and humanities; curriculum development from scratch is not required. Help students become strong, clear, and confident writers; review essays and written work and provide meaningful feedback. Lead thoughtful discussions around history, culture, literature, leadership, faith, and current ideas. Encourage students to ask good questions, think critically, and form their own thoughtful conclusions. Help students understand topics through a strong biblical worldview while thoughtfully engaging with different ideas and perspectives. Promote independence, personal responsibility, curiosity, initiative, leadership, problem-solving, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Provide light support and accountability while students complete self-guided math and science coursework. What We’re Looking For Enjoys working with high-school students and connects well with teenagers. Strong in English, writing, literature, history, or humanities. Has a strong personal faith and is comfortable teaching and discussing subjects from a biblical worldview. Values independent thinking, thoughtful discussion, and intellectual curiosity. Is a strong communicator and writer who can coach students through the writing process. Can balance academic structure with flexibility and real-world learning. Appreciates entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership, initiative, and problem-solving. Dependable, mature, relational, engaging, and comfortable teaching in a private-home homeschool environment. Preferred Background Current or former teacher; education, English, history, humanities, theology, or liberal arts student/graduate; experienced homeschool educator; high-school tutor; retired educator; or someone with teaching experience combined with business or entrepreneurial experience. A teaching certificate is welcome but not required. Our Goal We want our students to become curious learners, competent writers, independent thinkers, strong communicators, young adults grounded in faith and biblical worldview, and creative problem-solvers with an entrepreneurial mindset. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping teenagers think deeply, communicate clearly, grow in confidence, and take ownership of their learning. Schedule & Compensation Two days per week, 8:00 AM-1:30 PM. Monday and Wednesday preferred, although Monday and Tuesday may also be available. $25-$35 per hour depending on experience and background.
