Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician installs, sets up, maintains, and repairs a wide range of custom machinery, injection molding equipment, and robotics in a clean manufacturing environment. This role performs changeovers, preventative maintenance, and complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Complete equipment changeovers and change physical tooling on machinery according to production requirements.
- Set up and operate all machinery in the plant, ensuring proper configuration and safe operation.
- Follow a preventative maintenance schedule, including oiling, lubricating, greasing, and performing filter changes on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair up to 88 pieces of custom machinery, including injection molding equipment and robotics.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Replace motors, gearboxes, pumps, sensors, sprockets, and other mechanical and electrical components as needed.
- Build and rebuild machinery and subassemblies to complete repairs and restore equipment to proper working condition.
- Verify proper operation of equipment after maintenance or repair and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous operation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage as required.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to mechanically and electrically troubleshoot machinery and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with machine repair and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and motors.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics for industrial equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair injection molding machinery and related robotics.
- Capability to replace and align motors, gearboxes, pumps, sensors, sprockets, and similar components.
- Comfortable working up to 60 hours per week on a consistent basis.
- Ability to successfully pass an SMT test or equivalent skills assessment.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to established procedures while working with mechanical and electrical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating multiple types of production machinery.
- Experience in preventative maintenance programs, including lubrication and filter changes.
- Experience building or rebuilding machinery and mechanical assemblies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to document work performed accurately.

Work Environment
This role is based in a facility that maintains a clean, organized environment rather than a dirty or harsh shop setting. Team members follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and wear appropriate GMP work attire while on the production floor. You will work around custom machinery, equipment, and robotics, using a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools and systems in a structured manufacturing setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cary, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $76960.00/yr. Medical, dental, vision, and 401k, parental leave.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Cary, IL.
