Associate Director Global Public Affairs – Energy FGS Global is the world’s leading stakeholder strategy firm, with about 1,400 professionals worldwide. We advise clients on navigating critical issues and reputational challenges, providing board‑level and C‑suite counsel in stakeholder strategy, corporate reputation, crisis management, public affairs, and transaction and financial communications. Our Global Public Affairs experts help companies and investors understand how political, policy, and regulatory developments affect their businesses. We focus on advocacy support, political due diligence, media engagement, and advising on the structure of government relations and policy functions. Our Brussels office serves as the EU hub for FGS Global. Your Responsibilities Policy monitoring and analysis – Track and interpret EU energy policy and regulatory developments, translating complex legislative changes into actionable insights tailored to each client’s business context. Client delivery – Support the delivery of client mandates across the energy sector, managing day‑to‑day account activities and ensuring high‑quality written and oral outputs. Stakeholder engagement – Map and engage relevant policy, political, and regulatory stakeholders across EU institutions, member states, trade associations, and think tanks. Project coordination – Own specific workstreams within larger client mandates, coordinating internal teams and managing timelines to meet strict quality and delivery standards. New business support – Contribute to pitch preparation and new business development activities, including research, drafting, and participation in pitch meetings with senior colleagues. Junior team support – Provide guidance and feedback to junior team members, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth. What You Should Bring Strong grounding in EU energy policy and direct experience in a consultancy environment. Bachelor’s degree; Master’s in public policy, international relations, energy, law or a related field is advantageous. 3–5 years of experience in a public affairs agency, management consultancy, or strategic advisory firm. Experience working with a EU institution, trade association, energy company, or regulator, especially in an advisory capacity. Excellent writing skills – ability to translate complex policy and regulatory developments into concise, client‑ready analysis tailored to specific business contexts. Very good working knowledge of the EU energy policy landscape, key legislative files, and influencing institutions. Strong organizational skills and a proven record of meeting deadlines across multiple workstreams. Proactive, collaborative approach with a willingness to develop expertise and client relationships over time. Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
