Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Division Land Acquisition Director. The right candidate will direct land acquisition operations for the division while maintaining responsibility for strategic acquisition transactions. This role oversees personnel, operational performance, acquisition strategy, and portfolio growth.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Direct land acquisition activities for the divisionEstablish acquisition strategies, performance objectives, and growth plansLead, develop, and evaluate acquisition personnel to ensure effective execution of departmental objectivesReview and approve acquisition recommendations, investment analyses, and transaction structuresNegotiate strategic transactions and partnership opportunities supporting long-term growthMonitor acquisition pipelines, budgets, forecasts, and performance metricsCollaborate with executive leadership to evaluate market expansion opportunities and business prioritiesEnsure compliance with company policies, approval processes, and risk management standardsRepresent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunitiesConduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises 2 or more employeesQualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience requiredTen+ years of progressive land acquisition, real estate, development, or homebuilding experience required5+ years of people management experienceStrong understanding of multi-market acquisition strategy and organizational leadership principlesProven ability to develop high-performing teams that consistently deliver resultsAbility to create alignment between acquisition strategy and business objectivesDevelops high-performing teams that consistently deliver results.Strong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essentialAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applicationsAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
