MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
The Residential Recovery Coach is responsible for providing recovery support services to consumers participating in an OASAS Residential Treatment Program. The Residential Recovery Coach documents all provided services in a manner that is compliant with regulatory and funding agents.
The Residential Recovery Coach delivers services to the participants on-site and in the community.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of recovery services and conducts all recovery coaching activities within this framework.
- Document all CRPA services in accordance with state and managed care regulations.
- Provide guidance, support and recovery coaching for participants in accordance with Treatment Plan and engages in recovery activities and support services.
- Provide advocacy, outreach, empowerment, transitional, pre-crisis and crisis supports activities on-site and in the community.
- Facilitate recovery-related services including Morning Meeting, Afternoon Seminar and Evening Meeting.
- Escort clients to and from appointments in community as needed.
- Organize pro-social activities and events.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Attend all required in-service training seminars.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Other relevant duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required,
- Ability to deliver culturally competent services to a diverse consumer population.
- Ability to share Life Experience in a manner appropriate to the consumers served.
- A minimum of six months of community-based recovery with at least six consecutive months of abstinence at the time of enrollment.
- Good interpersonal skills, enthusiastic about recovery.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification (able to obtain within six months of hire).
