Role Description The Used Car Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Walnut Creek, CA. This position oversees all aspects of pre‑owned vehicle operations, including inventory selection, pricing, merchandising, and reconditioning to achieve sales and gross profit objectives. The role manages and coaches the used car sales team, sets performance goals, and ensures consistent execution of sales processes and customer service standards. Daily responsibilities include monitoring market trends, appraising trade‑ins, coordinating with service and finance departments, and reviewing sales reports to optimize performance. The Used Car Manager also handles customer escalations, supports sales negotiations, and maintains compliance with dealership policies and applicable regulations. Qualifications Strong background in Pre‑Owned Vehicle Sales and Sales, with proven ability to meet or exceed dealership sales targets. Experience developing and enforcing effective Sales Processes that support structured, consistent used car operations. Demonstrated commitment to Customer Satisfaction and high‑quality Customer Service in a retail automotive environment. Previous management or supervisory experience in automotive sales, including training, coaching, and performance management. Solid understanding of used car inventory management, vehicle appraisals, pricing strategies, and local market conditions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Comfort with dealership CRM tools and sales reporting systems; basic proficiency with standard office software.
