Software Engineer for AI Model Evaluation [Remote]

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reinforcement learning environments that simulate real backend programming tasks.
• Develop backend services and the necessary code to support those environments, utilizing technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or Rust.
• Create comprehensive unit and integration tests, ensuring test coverage is a priority.
• Review code for correctness, performance, maintainability, and security, providing clear feedback to fellow engineers.
• Address programming tasks and document your technical reasoning to enhance AI model quality.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team, clearly documenting engineering decisions.

• Strong experience in backend software development using Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, or similar technologies.
• Proven track record in building scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and code review processes.
• Cybersecurity or SecOps experience is highly preferred, including knowledge in application security, secure coding, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, OWASP, CWE, or security-focused code reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working effectively in remote, distributed teams.
• Familiarity with AI, data-driven, or large-scale technical projects is a plus.

Contractor position, fully remote.

Hourly pay ranges from $40 to $75.

No prior AI experience is required; your software engineering expertise is what matters.
