Duties and Responsibilities What You'll Do
- Operate equipment such as graders, loaders, skid steers, street sweepers, trucks, and trailers.
- Perform minor mechanical work and basic equipment care.
- Use hand and power tools for daily tasks.
- Follow Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) rules to keep work zones safe.
- Remove debris and help with clean-up after storms or emergencies.
- Maintain road right-of-ways and complete routine inspections.
- Work on a crew or independently, depending on the assignment.
- Form, pour, measure, and finish concrete.
- Build catch basins, lay pipe, and shoot grades using a laser.
- Interact with the public in a professional way.
- High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) years of heavy equipment operation or related experience
- Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement and a safe driving record
- This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing in accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and/or 382).
- Employees will complete in-house training for IMOT certification and will be responsible for setting up and removing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) work zones.
Work Schedule
- Tuesday- Friday 7:00 AM-5:30 PM.
- Weekend or emergency response work may be required
- Additional hours may be needed during weather events or special operations
