Research Nurse Specialist

What You Will Do We are currently searching for a skilled Registered Nurse with clinical research experience to fill a Research Nurse Specialist position. The role will support the coordination and execution of NHLBI’s research protocols and clinical trials across hematology‑oncology, cardiology, pulmonary, sickle cell disease, vascular medicine, and cellular therapy. The position is full‑time and located in Bethesda, MD. Work with a diverse clinical research team—including physicians, advanced practice providers, patient care coordinators, protocol navigators, and data managers—to coordinate clinical research studies. Coordinate clinical research activities to meet study protocol requirements and manage the research participant’s experience throughout the life cycle of a study. Counsel and educate patients participating in research studies, including follow‑up with patients in long‑term studies. Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into ongoing research studies. Support compliance with protocol regulatory requirements. Manage clinical research data and support data quality assurance. What You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field with minimum 2+ years of nursing experience. Active, current license as a Registered Nurse in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Minimum 2+ years of experience in a research setting, including clinical research coordination. What Would Be Nice To Have Clinical Research certification preferred. Experience in cardiology, pulmonary, hematology‑oncology, vascular medicine, and/or sickle cell disease preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to fast‑paced, high‑acuity research environments. Salary The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00–$124,000.00.
