Maintenance Supervisor

You are invited to apply for the Technical Maintenance Supervisor position. The role involves supervising, leading, mentoring, and developing maintenance personnel while fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Location and Working Arrangements Location: 1969 Victory Drive, Columbus, GA (Hostess Manufacturing Plant) Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, PM 10-hour shift; flexibility required, including nights, weekends, holidays; flow to work as needed. Responsibilities Lead maintenance in a manner that promotes safety and abides by LOTO & GMP policies and procedures. Provide problem‑solving expertise and root cause analysis to Operations. Instill Smucker's Basic Beliefs and our Culture in Action. Lead and mentor a group of hourly employees to promote JMS culture while enhancing their skillset in all areas of maintenance, building, and grounds and facility upkeep related tasks. Develop and execute predictive and preventative PM programs. Direct and deploy technical resources to repair or maintain equipment. Build mastery level skills in advanced technicians, advanced technical skills in equipment owners, and basic technical and trouble‑shooting skills in all technicians. Ensure technical documentation, PMs, and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place. Create necessary PMs and SOPs to properly maintain equipment and enable resources to execute work. Provide technical expertise and guidance to technical resources within a department. Collaborate with area leaders, process engineers, and coordinators in developing work plans that maximize sanitation and startup effectiveness and efficiency. Administrator of timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll approval processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Assure compliance with all quality standards including but not limited to SOPs, GMPs, and BRC requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience supervising technical individuals. Demonstrated experience teaching and leading others. Strong technical and mechanical ability, including problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Experience troubleshooting and programming line control systems (PLC’s, HMI’s, etc.). Prior experience in manufacturing. Ability to communicate and comprehend specifics regarding equipment malfunctions; visual ability to identify equipment problems. Computer skills for ordering parts and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Effective communication in English (written and verbal). Prior food manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project management experience preferred. EEO Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
