Position Overview: A professional care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, providing care through the continued utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members.# The RN will be responsible for meeting the standards required by AACN, JCAHO, GHS, and other regulating agencies for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the unit.# The RN will process information in the Center#s computer and information system as required in performing job responsibilities. Nursing Process - Assessment: Collects data in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on the biophysical, psychosocial, self-care, educational discharge planning and environmental needs of the patient. Planning: Formulates a goal-directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on identified patient care needs. Implementation: Initiates plan of care based on established priorities, essential needs and available resources. Evaluation: Assesses on an ongoing basis the effectiveness of intervention and revises the plan of care as needed.# Psychomotor Skills - Demonstrates competence in required technical skills. Documentation - Accountable for overall medical record completeness and accuracy. Documents in a timely, accurate, and concise manner reflecting proper use of terminology and abbreviations. Patient Safety - Functions with an awareness and appreciation of safety/infection control policies as identified with the institution by using universal precautions and proper body mechanics. Will ensure equipment for proper function and accuracy.# Will review limits and alarms with RN.# Emergency Situations: Identifies an unstable or emergency condition and initiates appropriate action. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. Current BLS and ACLS training required.
