Phlebotomist

Location:  VA Medical Center 975 Kirman Ave Reno, NV 89502

Pay Rate: $26.07 per hour.

Hours:  Day, evening, and night shifts available.

Qualifications:

• Must have Phlebotomy certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a phlebotomist.
• Must provide three (3) letters of recommendation from lab supervisors, clinical teachers, or physicians attesting to clincal skills.

Responsibilities: Shall be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Collect blood samples using the vacutainer blood collection system or syringe with needle/butterfly when necessary. The Phlebotomist follows established procedures of correctly identifying the patient and for the appropriate specimen to be drawn for the test(s) requested. 
• Collect and process urine samples for both and/or timed collections for testing. Correctly instructs patient in the collection and handling of the specimen to be collected.
