Position Summary

The part-time Nutrition Services Professional supports the district's child nutrition program by preparing, transporting, and serving meals to students at a district charter school site. This position plays a vital role in ensuring all students receive safe, nutritious meals in compliance with federal, state, and district standards. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, as duties include transporting food between locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general kitchen duties including meal preparation, portioning, and packing.
• Load prepared breakfasts and lunches and transport them safely to the designated charter school site.
• Unload food and serve meals to students in accordance with nutrition service guidelines.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to students and staff.
• Reload leftover items, return food service equipment, and transport back to the district kitchen.
• Assist with dishwashing, sanitation, and cleaning tasks in the kitchen after breakfast and lunch service.
• Prepare for the next meal service by setting up serving areas, supplies, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment at the end of the day, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nutrition Services Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; must be able to drive district vehicles when assigned.
• Previous experience in food service, school nutrition, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills; commitment to serving students.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a school kitchen and cafeteria setting.
• May involve exposure to hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and cleaning chemicals.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and transport of food items and equipment.

Compensation

• Hourly wage based on district pay scale.
• Part-time schedule aligned with the school year; no evenings, weekends, or holidays required.
