Performance Analyst

Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Analyst role focuses on performance analysis and reporting, leveraging advanced Power BI development, data modelling, and analytical skills to create dynamic dashboards and reporting solutions. The position involves optimizing existing reports, integrating data from multiple enterprise and third-party systems, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver decision-ready insights. This hybrid role requires strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication to bridge business requirements with technical implementation. Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain end-user, technical, and developer documentation for reporting solutions.
• Establish reporting standards, KPI definitions, and data governance practices.
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical and reporting specifications.
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and trend analyses for leadership and business users.
• Develop ad-hoc and recurring reports to support decision-making processes.
• Partner with PMO, Finance, I&IT, and other stakeholders to integrate data requirements.
• Design, develop, and optimize Power BI reports using DAX, Power Query/M, and data modelling.
• Implement security controls including RLS and workspace access management.
• Troubleshoot data refresh, model, and reporting issues.
• Work with data integration from multiple enterprise and third-party systems such as ServiceNow, EcoSys, and Jira.
• Collaborate with data engineers and BI teams on data sourcing and exchange.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues and implement controls.
• Support existing applications, reports, and business processes with continuous improvement.
• Lead data migration and platform transition efforts ensuring data integrity and reporting continuity.
• Develop and execute UAT, regression, and production validation testing.
• Maintain comprehensive business, technical, and data documentation.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Proven knowledge and experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Advanced Power BI development skills including DAX, Power Query/M, data modelling, semantic models, and Power BI Service.
• Strong SQL and data modelling expertise with relational and dimensional modelling (star-schema).
• Experience integrating and modelling data from multiple enterprise and third-party systems.
• Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical and reporting solutions.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Power BI solutions in production.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with Power BI role-level security (RLS), workspace management, and security controls.
• Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA/macros.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience integrating data from APIs, cloud-based data services, and enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with project and portfolio management platforms such as Asana or Microsoft Project.
• Experience with PMO, project portfolio, financial or operational performance reporting.
• Experience collaborating in environments with multiple BI, data, or development teams.
• Python or other scripting language experience for data analysis, automation, or processing.
• Public sector experience.

Special Considerations:

• Hybrid work model requiring 3 days in-office with possibility of up to 5 days on-site.
• Role based in Toronto at 277 Front Street West location.
• Collaborative environment emphasizing in-person co-creation and partnership.

• Standard business hours with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, flexible possibility for full on-site presence).
