Accounting Specialist

CMC Associa is hiring an Accounting Specialist for its HOA community in Fredericksburg, VA.

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the Association's financial administration, reporting, budgeting, cash management, and accounting functions. This role works closely with the General Manager, Board Treasurer, Finance Committee, and corporate accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and sound fiscal management.

Job Duties:

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, banking, and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate financial close processes, prepare financial reports and statements, and analyze financial performance, budget variances, and trends.
• Develop operating and reserve budgets, forecasts, and financial presentations; analyze utility costs and trends to support financial planning.
• Monitor reserve expenditures, cash balances, liquidity, and cash flow, ensuring compliance with reserve studies and approved financial plans.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, regulatory compliance, and required financial documentation.
• Support Board and Finance Committee decision-making through financial analysis, reporting, presentations, and recommendations.
• Review contracts for financial impact, support accounting systems and special projects, and maintain confidential financial records.
• Utilize advanced Excel and accounting software, with strong financial analysis, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Communicate effectively with Board members, residents, auditors, vendors, and staff while exercising sound professional judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
• Other duties as requested.

Hourly pay rate: $35-$39.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of accounting or financial management experience required.
• Experience in community associations, hospitality, nonprofit organizations, or similar environments preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, reserve accounting, and cash flow management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
