Our certified and highly-skilled teams specialize in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection and retrofit to existing structural members.The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing construction management including administrative and technical support to the Project Manager.Working with Project Manager to coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned projectsRead specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials requiredCreate and establish schedules that include preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, shop drawing creation, material procurement, and fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout procedures.Prepare, coordinate, review, and execute submittals, contracts, blueprints/drawings, and other critical documentsCommunicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflictsCommunicate and coordinate the steel package with other trade contractors via the BIM process and work through clash detectionEffectively organize and maintain important documents in both a hard copy and electronic formatDoes this sound like you?Prior Project Management experience particularly in steel fabrication/erection strongly preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera) preferredValid US driver's license is requiredKnowledge of Tekla, Trimble Connect software programs is a plusKnowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in steel constructionKnowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and proceduresAbility to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics relevant to the positionEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Met-Con, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Met-Con, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
