Senior Land Analyst

Land Analyst (onsite or remote)


We are working with a well-backed, acquisition-focused upstream oil & gas company that continues to expand its footprint across key U.S. basins. Known for its disciplined approach, strong technical team, and data-driven strategy, this group offers a collaborative environment where individuals can gain broad exposure across land, engineering, and deal evaluation.

Position Overview
This role supports the Land team in evaluating mineral and royalty ownership across multiple basins. You will work closely with land, engineering, and data teams to maintain accurate records, analyze drilling activity, and contribute to acquisition efforts.


The position is offering strong exposure to deal-driven aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership & Land Analysis


• Calculate and validate mineral and royalty ownership using well, lease, unit, and tract data


• Analyze ownership structures and assist in identifying interest across various assets


• Maintain accurate land records and support database integrity


Acquisitions & Due Diligence


• Support land efforts tied to acquisitions, including ownership verification and data analysis


• Assist in identifying mineral opportunities for outbound campaigns


Cross-Functional Collaboration


• Partner with engineering and data teams to improve land-related workflows and tools


• Work with third-party contractors to maintain and update land databases


Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree required (PLM or related field preferred)


• 4+ years of experience in a land-related role (Land Analyst, Division Order)


• Working knowledge of:


• mineral and royalty interests


• NRI/NRA calculations


• legal land descriptions and chain of title


Experience with land software, Quorum, PakEnergy, and Enverus preferred
