Nurse Practitioner

Physician Assistant/Nurse PractitionerReporting to the Medical Director and the Director of Operations and working as part of the Oncology Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service.Brown University Health employees are expected to successfully role model the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence as these guide our everyday actions with patients, customers and one another.Principal duties and responsibilities:Obtain patient historiesPerform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for plan of carePerform diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresCoordinate tests and consultationsImplement treatment plans which includes communicating with referring and consulting physiciansProvide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members about treatment and medical carePrepare patients for treatment plansPerforms other duties as assignedEducation:Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program.Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required.Experience:Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care is required.The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our Emergency Physicians.Work environment and physical requirements:Fast-paced, interactive, team-oriented Emergency Department environment with a diverse range of patients and pathology.Independent action:Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge and skills acquired through education, certification and work experience.Supervisory responsibility:None.Pay Range:$127,504.00-$161,782.40EEO Statement:Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.Location:Brown Health Medical Group - 167 Point Street Providence, Rhode Island 02903Work Type:Mon-Fri 8a-5pWork Shift:DayDaily Hours:8 hoursDriving Required:No
