Job Description

This position is part of the Corporate Finance Group and focuses on credit analysis and credit approval for lending to primarily Japanese corporate clients .

The Credit Analyst will:

• Analyze companies’ financial statements , including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
• Evaluate credit risk, business risks, and industry conditions .
• Assign and maintain internal credit ratings .
• Prepare credit application and approval memos and coordinate the internal approval process.
• Monitor existing borrowers and conduct periodic credit reviews .
• Work closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, and Head Office .
• Communicate credit analysis and transaction details to Head Office and internal risk teams.
• Provide credit and risk recommendations to the front-office/Relationship Management team.
• Support the bank's credit policies and risk management framework .

Requirements

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience at a bank or financial institution.
• Strong experience in financial statement and credit analysis .
• Strong understanding of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
• Business-level English , both written and verbal.
• Business-level Japanese ; native or near-native preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

• Corporate banking experience.
• Experience working with Japanese corporate clients .
• Knowledge of credit rating models and credit approval processes .
• Understanding of the U.S. market and regulatory environment .
