Description: Hawaii Disability Rights Center is the state's designated protection and advocacy system for individuals with disabilities. The organization resolves rights violations through legal advocacy, outreach, education, and both individual and systemic support. Servicesincluding casework, self-advocacy assistance, training, and public-policy advocacyare all aimed at improving access and equity. In doing so, the organization empowers individuals to live with dignity and independence, while working toward a more inclusive Hawaii.

Location: 1001 Bishop St., Ste. 1110, Honolulu, HI 96813

Public Transportation: Buses 1, 7, and 13 run between Chaminade and Hawaii Disability Rights Center.

Direct Report: Career Pathway and Success Coach (Federal Work-Study Coordinator)

Indirect Report: Operations Manager, Hawaii Disability Rights Center

• Act as the first point of contact by promptly answering calls and greeting visitors.
• Provide intake forms and a welcoming atmosphere for all walk-in guests.
• Assist with administrative tasks including copying, scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Support the center's mission by performing additional duties as assigned.

• Current Chaminade student
• Federal Work-Study eligibility through Chaminade (Unfortunately, due to this requirement, Marianist Exchange Program participants from Chaminade's sister universities are ineligible to apply.)
• 2.0 GPA or higher (must maintain)

This position may involve light physical activity in both indoor and outdoor settings. Successful candidates should be comfortable alternating between standing and sitting, as well as navigating stairs and sloped walkways. They should also be comfortable lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Strong motor skills and clear, effective communication are essential.

• This is a part-time, non-exempt employment position. Successful candidates may work up to 19 hours per week; however, employment is on an as-needed basis. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to a varied schedule are essential.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and university procedures. Promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries in accordance with established guidelines.
• Comply with all university policies and procedures, which are available at or through the employee SharePoint portal.
