Director of Accounting

Full-time position, weekdays between 8am and 5pm.  Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.

Purpose: Contribute to the Christian mission of the university by providing detailed and accurate contributions to our accounting team.              

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and enter journal entries into accounting software.
• Assist with month end close process.
• Assist with the processing of internal payment systems records and other forms.
• Assist with year-end close and audit.
• Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.

• Provide prompt assistance to other accountants and departments as needed or requested.
• Other general accounting duties and special projects as necessary.

• Associates or college degree preferred
• Accounting/bookkeeping and/or accounts payable clerk experience preferred.

• Ability to use a computer and knowledge of standard and specific business applications, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), computerized accounting, and ability to learn new software applications.
• Quick learner and able to respond well to multi-task environment
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality
• Highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual with personal and professional integrity

Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
