RNG Site Supervisor/Superintendent

The Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Site Supervisor/Superintendent is responsible for the safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the RNG facility. This position leads RNG personnel, coordinates daily operations and maintenance activities, and oversees planning, regulatory compliance, maintenance programs, and continuous improvement.

The position works closely with RNG personnel, technical and support staff, vendors, contractors, the landfill owner, and other departments to support safe and reliable facility operations and achieve organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assign daily tasks and monitor results, with an emphasis on safety and skill development of junior members of the team. Maintain team work schedules. 
• Oversee the LOCI automated well-field system in coordination with PUD field personnel. 
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations and permits, including required reporting and recordkeeping. Support continuous improvement of site standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
• In coordination with the RNG team, schedule planned outages with emphasis on duration, approved budgets, and major projects.
• Coordinate all department project completion goals with an emphasis on supply chain constraints. The primary goal is to keep major projects on time and on budget with monthly status reports to senior staff and the General Manager.
• In coordination with RNG and PUD personnel, continually monitor and adjust critical spares and inventory based on supply-chain availability and risk mitigation. Track inventory levels using the onsite computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Oversee and facilitate ordering, purchasing, procurement, and receiving of repair parts and service contracts. 
• In coordination with the Plant Manager and technical leads, continue implementation of a long-range forecast for major components. Plan, to the extent possible, system improvements and retrofits. Complete budget and asset-tracking functions in accordance with established policy. 
• In coordination with a dedicated lead, maintain the CMMS and ensure accurate and timely work order completion, with emphasis on safety training, corrective and preventive maintenance, and full utilization of available staffing. 
• Facilitate and ensure compliance with applicable DOT pipeline regulations, including required drug and alcohol testing and Clearinghouse requirements. Maintain required safety, air, water, solid waste, production, and pipeline records with assistance from technical and support staff. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

• Operation and maintenance of equipment associated with manufacturing or process environments, including pumps, motors, generators, motor controllers, control systems, electrical systems, and thermal and chemical processes. 
• Preventive and predictive maintenance programs. 
• Maintenance planning and scheduling. 
• Purchasing, procurement, inventory, and service-contract processes. 
• CMMS, accounting software, and Microsoft Office. 
• Applicable environmental, health, safety, and pipeline requirements. 
• Budgeting and project management principles. 

Ability to: 

• Lead and supervise a technical team in a production, operations, or maintenance environment. 
• Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work activities. 
• Discuss technical issues and communicate effectively to resolve problems. 
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships across departments and levels of the organization. 
• Coordinate plant activities with vendors and contractors. 
• Remain detail-oriented, prioritize workloads, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a professional demeanor. 

Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience leading a technical team in a production, operations, or maintenance environment.

• Experience operating and maintaining equipment associated with manufacturing or process operations, including pumps, motors, generators, motor controllers, control systems, electrical systems, and thermal and chemical processes. 
• Demonstrated experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, budgeting, and project management principles. 
• Proficiency with CMMS and accounting software, as well as Microsoft Office. 
• Must meet and maintain all requirements applicable to a DOT-covered employee, including participation in required drug and alcohol testing and the DOT Clearinghouse. 
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• Post-offer drug screen required. 
• Post-offer background check required.

Valid Driver’s License :  Valid driver's license required.

Education: Technical degree, applicable military technical training, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Consideration will be given to candidates with experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, purchasing or procurement, and project management.
• RNG experience preferred.

• Work is performed in both office and industrial plant environments and may include exposure to operating machinery, noise, odors, varying temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions. 
• Duties may require prolonged standing or walking; bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders; and access to plant equipment and operational areas. 
• Regular use of computers, communication equipment, vehicles, and tools or equipment associated with plant operations may be required. 
• May be required to respond outside normal working hours to operational issues, outages, emergencies, or other facility needs.
