Therapeutic Program Worker

Position Franklin Medical Center Therapeutic Program Worker Location United States of America – Ohio, Franklin County, Columbus Starting Pay Approximately $51,000 based on shift assignment, plus a 3% occupational pay supplement. Responsibilities Assists patients to function independently in self‑help and daily living skills using a variety of training techniques according to prescribed treatment plans. Takes vital signs and records medication and movement information. Measures and records meal and fluid intake, urinary and fecal output. Turns and repositions bedridden patients; transfers/lifts patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables. Transports patients as needed. Examines patients for bruises, blood in urine, and other injuries/wounds. Changes bed linens and restocks rooms with necessary supplies. Answers call lights and assists patients accordingly. Observes patient behavior, complaints, and physical symptoms and reports to nurses. Completes timely documentation of all care provided and data collected. Participates in development of individual patient problem‑oriented treatment plans. Responds to emergencies and provides emergency care. Performs simple treatments and collects urine and fecal specimens. Participates in work‑related training, recertification programs, in‑service training, meetings and exercises. Provides assistance to other healthcare team members. Receives report from preceding shift and reports to oncoming shift. Assists nurses and providers with procedures as indicated. Assists nursing staff with admissions, discharges, and transfers. Participates in quality assurance activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Conducts themselves professionally and in a law‑abiding manner at all times in accordance with Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Standards of Employee Conduct. Qualifications Formal education in arithmetic (addition & subtraction) and reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. In the Department of Developmental Disabilities, a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalence is required. For positions requiring motor vehicle operation, a valid driver’s license is required. Equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment as noted above are acceptable.
