Currently, 130 faculty and staff serve approximately 500 girls in grades 6-12 with a college preparatory curriculum that includes a full complement of courses in the humanities, STEM, the arts, and more, as well as a rich and varied co‑curricular program. Girls Preparatory School seeks a head varsity golf coach beginning the 2026-27 school year to provide visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and day‑to‑day management of the school’s 6th–12th grade golf program. The head varsity golf coach is responsible for building and sustaining a program that reflects the mission and values of GPS while ensuring a competitive and enriching experience for student‑athletes. This role will collaborate closely with athletics staff, school leadership, and families to foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and community. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Vision Develop and implement a comprehensive program philosophy that aligns with the GPS mission, values, and overall athletics strategic plan. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that is vertically aligned across middle and upper school levels. Scheduling & Program Operations Schedule practice sessions, meets, and travel arrangements to maximize student‑athlete development while balancing academic commitments. Maintain accurate records of player performance, fitness, and compliance status. Communication & Community Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for the varsity golf program, ensuring timely and consistent communication with athletes, families, and school staff. Partner with the Athletics Department to promote the program through marketing, social media, and community events. Equipment & Uniform Management Ensure the program complies with TSSAA and NFHS regulations, school policies, and safety standards. Encourage leadership, sportsmanship, and personal growth among players. Support student‑athletes through the college recruitment process, providing guidance and resources to pursue opportunities at the next level. Support the “whole girl” by fostering confidence, resilience, and holistic development both on and off the field. Qualifications Significant coaching and leadership experience within competitive golf programs, preferably at the high school or collegiate level. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor coaching staff. Commitment to the mission and values of an all‑girls independent school environment.
