Underwriting Analyst | Property and Casualty | Hybrid The role provides property, liability and workers' compensation underwriting services within delegated authority to clients and/or marketers. The position supports self‑insured risk pool services. Primary Purpose of the Role To provide property, liability and/or workers' compensation underwriting and related services to clients and/or marketers within delegated authority. Essential Responsibilities Analyze, rate, and approve underwriting referrals in a timely manner according to underwriting authority. Liaise with assigned customers and provide timely and professional responses to underwriting/related requests and questions. Maintain detailed underwriting records. Review submissions and referrals with supervisor or designated underwriting referral contact as needed. Act as a liaison with other departments and partners including customers, Sedgwick/Pools, claims, loss control, and accounting departments as well as reinsurers and marketers. Assist in analytical and administrative projects as assigned. Qualifications Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Four (4) years of insurance underwriting/related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Underwriting experience with public entity pools and their respective exposures and coverages preferred. Licensing / Jurisdiction Knowledge: Underwriting or other insurance training preferred. Property casualty insurance agent license preferred. Skills & Knowledge Solid math skills including the ability to calculate figures accurately and efficiently. Analytical and interpretive skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to reason, solve practical problems, and interpret a variety of information and instructions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. PC literate, including Microsoft Office and other system products. Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
