Material Handler

We have an outstanding Contract position for aMaterial Handlerto join a leading Company located in thePeck, MIsurrounding area.

The Material Handler is responsible of verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing and packing items for shipments . The Material Handler is capable of loading and unloading shipments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assembles orders, checks against shipping or customer orders, and reports shortages and incomplete orders.

• Selects appropriate shipping containers and packing material.

• Operates standard manual and automatic equipment.

• Stacks shipments on skids and takes shipments to the shipping dock.

• Receives and unpacks materials and supplies.

• Checks receipts against purchase orders for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects.

• Expedites material to the proper department or storage location.

• Operates crane, hoist or power truck to move materials.

• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

• May rotate to other workstations in the unit.

• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time and to work overtime as needed.

• Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures.

• Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.

• Ability to read and interpret documents

• Must possess basic computer skills.

• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, measurements, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Ability to define basic problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs.
