Junior Backend Java Developer- Enterprise Payments and Credit Card

Job Summary We are looking for high-capacity individuals that will work under the guidance of our Architect to assist in creating best in class Enterprise APIs and the necessary Production Infrastructure to provide performance, scale and reliability. Responsibilities Develop modern RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot. Perform full-stack development, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-enabled services (containers on-prem and cloud). Assist with system design and business analysis including server layout, availability, disaster recovery planning, and production deployments. Assist with software and data design: database schema, storage considerations, data mapping, data storage efficiency, NoSQL considerations, RDBMS to NoSQL, flat file to NoSQL, API design (call signature, schema, business logic, data access, resilience, logging, supportability). Assist with software delivery by creating server architecture, table layouts, highly available and recoverable data resources, and high-performance data sources. Help transition to Kafka by analyzing use cases, environment setup, enrichment, and transformations. Help transition from physical/virtual machine environments to cloud run environments and containers. Collaborate with engineers and architects to create a common API layer between various data sources and applications within an agile product model using two-week sprints. Develop software in an agile environment leveraging DevOps for environment setup, automated builds, continuous deployment, continuous integration, and automated testing. Implement enterprise services and APIs under guidance of the architectural team. Deliver rapid, scalable, and quality solutions that meet business needs. Develop and implement unit tests and automated test scripts as part of routine development. Work closely with engineers, vendor partners, and business owners to ensure solutions meet business and customer needs. Follow industry-standard agile software design methodologies and embrace new technologies. Maintain and evolve integration assets and systems, and refine processes for maturing integration development and operation of key platforms. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field. 1‑3+ years of related experience in software development, including creating and maintaining application interfaces between data sources. 1+ years of experience with DevOps. 1‑3+ years of strong Java development experience (Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, Gradle). 1‑3+ years of experience developing application interfaces (API) with Java or similar object‑oriented languages. Preferred Qualifications Strong experience with the SDLC process. Adept in building team relationships and partnering across organizational lines. Excellent collaboration skills, positive attitude, high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and high motivation. Expert conceptual and analytical skills with out‑of‑the‑box problem solving. Ability to see and articulate patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, business models and people. Self‑starter with ability to prioritize and plan complex tasks in dynamic environments. Experience with REST, JSON, or SOAP web interfaces. Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and related methodologies. Experience with Chef, Puppet, or similar deployment automation products. Experience with Git source control and interfaces such as GitHub. Experience with Jenkins build management and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Range: $52,000 – $101,000 Annual Salary. Eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
