Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Lynchburg, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Intermediate Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) Nurse, located at the organizations facility, is responsible for providing specialized patient care within the intermediate care setting. This position involves managing a diverse patient population with acuity levels including cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical cases, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes during assigned shifts. Job Details Position Description: IMCU RN responsible for caring for a mixture of medical-surgical, telehealth, cardiac, neurological, and CVA patients in an intermediate care setting. Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact license, 2 years of experience in IMCU or similar setting, and minimum 1 year of recent relevant clinical experience. Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, minimum of 36 hours per week. Additional Information: Prior IMCU or charge nurse experience is preferred, with experience following Cerner electronic health record systems. Must work at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Years Day). Submission requires work history with at least 2 years minimum experience, explanation for any work gaps over 90 days, skills checklist, and a copy of Nursys/license. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission. The organization expects all team members, including travelers, to contribute to a culture of support and learning, particularly with students and new hires. Orientation occurs every other Monday, unless otherwise posted. No float rotation required. Client may cancel up to 36 hours prior to an assignment due to census fluctuations. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare team members to deliver safe, effective care.
