Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital, requiring telemetry competency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 286-bed acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current AHA certifications: BLS (required) and ACLS (required); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Telemetry competency required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Level III Trauma acute care hospital setting
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the first day
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are given priority
• During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
