Azure Databricks Architect
The Azure Databricks Architect must have at least 6-8+ years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Cloud teams and data architecture teams to build and administer Azure Databricks in the MMO Azure environment.
- Design and execute Azure Databricks permissions strategy, workspace architecture, storage, networking.
- Design and execute data protection plan for sensitive data/ Apply understanding of various security options and best practice implementations in Azure Databricks.
- Design and execute the technical onboarding of new lines of business to Azure Databricks.
- Design and administer data ingest architectures utilizing Fivetran HVR.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Advanced in one or more hyperscale cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Intermediate knowledge of networking and infrastructure (both physical and as a managed service)
- Intermediate knowledge of identity and access management (IAM, MS Entra) in a cloud context
- Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., HashiCorp Terraform)
- Basic understanding of various project methodology disciplines with basic knowledge of information and systems architectures.
- Basic understanding of various database platforms and data warehouse / lake / mesh concepts and implementations.
- Strong experience in data architecture and design including centralized vs decentralized architectures.
- Expert level in Designing and Architect solutions in Azure Databricks, Fivetran.
- Has worked extensively in large scale data modelling and implementation with hands-on experience.
- Has strong communication and organizational skills and able to deal with ambiguity while juggling multiple priorities and projects at the same time.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead deep technical discussions with solution architects and senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of SAS, SQL Server, DB2 for z/os, Db2 for i, Oracle etc. other databases is a plus.
- Knowledge of Fivetran and Fivetran HVR
- Knowledge of Alation data catalog
- Automation using Terraform and Azure DevOps.
