Essential Function Examples: Assist physicians in patient examinations by organizing and arranging instruments, leading patients into examination rooms and checking and recording patients' height, weight and temperature. Collect and test specimens of body fluids and wastes to advise physician of possible conditions. Prepare instruments for sterilization and operate in-house sterilization equipment. Complete routine medical records and reports, provide basic patient information and instruction and perform other routine tasks to assist in the provision of good patient care.

Marginal Function Examples: Contact patients to reschedule missed appointments and stress importance of adherence to medical guidelines for progress of treatment of tuberculosis or other communicable diseases.

Minimum Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of a one-year training program at an accredited school for Medical Assistants.
