Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder with strong experience in industrial, pipeline, refinery, fabrication, or high-pressure pipe systems. This is not an entry-level welding position. We are looking for a highly skilled welder who can consistently produce high-quality, X-ray welds, work independently, and perform under demanding field and shop conditions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with pipe welding in multiple positions, be comfortable welding to strict tolerances, and possess a strong understanding of welding procedures, blueprints, and safety requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding on carbon, stainless, chrome, and alloy pipe systems
• Complete root, hot, fill, and cap passes to specification
• Perform welding in 2G, 5G, and 6G positions
• Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, weld maps, and fabrication drawings
• Utilize various welding processes including:
• GTAW (TIG) –
• SMAW (Stick) –
• FCAW (Flux Core)
• Produce X-ray quality welds that meet project standards and codes
• Properly fit, align, and prepare pipe prior to welding
• Follow all OSHA, MSHA, and site-specific safety procedures
• Work safely in shop, industrial, refinery, or field environments
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work overtime and travel to job sites as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• 6+ years of verifiable pipe welding
• Must be able to pass a weld test (including 6G if required)
• Strong experience with TIG root and Stick fill/cap
• Experience welding to X-ray standards highly preferred
• Knowledge of ASME Section IX, AWS, or applicable pipe welding codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
• Experience in industrial, refinery, pipeline, fabrication, or shutdown environments preferred
• Must have own welding hood, hand tools, and PPE
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation REQUIRED
• Clean background preferred depending on site requirements
• Must be dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments including kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50+ pounds
• Stand for extended periods
• Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and awkward positions
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and industrial environments

Preferred Certifications

• Current welding certifications
• OSHA 10/30
• MSHA
• Previous X-ray certification or pipe welding qualifications

Only experienced pipe welders / double hood welders should apply. Must be able to demonstrate high-level welding ability and pass weld testing.
