HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer

Compensation: $90,000 – $130,000 Base Salary + Full Benefits + Bonus Potential We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing design-build mechanical contractor in the St. Louis market. This individual will play a key role supporting the design, coordination, and execution of complex commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC system design experience and a desire to work closely with both engineering and construction teams in a fast-paced design-build environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to large-scale projects while working alongside experienced project managers, engineers, and field operations teams. Responsibilities Design and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects Produce load calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts Develop construction documents, shop drawings, and coordinated BIM/Revit models Coordinate with project management, field operations, subcontractors, and clients throughout project lifecycle Assist with design-assist and design-build project delivery Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews Participate in project meetings and coordination sessions Review project specifications, submittals, RFIs, and mechanical plans Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements Support commissioning and project closeout activities as needed Preferred Project Experience Commercial HVAC Systems Industrial / Manufacturing Facilities Mission Critical / Data Centers Higher Education Laboratories / Life Sciences Distribution & Warehouse Facilities Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred 2–10+ years of experience in mechanical HVAC design or mechanical construction engineering Experience working with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination tools Understanding of HVAC systems including: VAV Systems Chilled Water Systems VRF Systems Rooftop Units Air Handling Units Central Plants Hydronic Systems Design-build or construction-focused engineering experience is highly preferred Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Annual Bonus Potential Full Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage 401(k) with Company Match PTO and Paid Holidays Career Growth Opportunities within a Growing Organization #J-18808-Ljbffr
