Engineer I - iSeries Power Systems (Onsite)

Position Overview The primary responsibility of the iSeries / Power Systems role is to install and manage hardware and software installations, troubleshoot, and support IBM iSeries and Power Systems that support our business applications. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administer, maintain and support iSeries/Power Systems hardware and software. Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on iSeries / Power Systems. Escalate incidents as necessary. Manage incoming service requests and incidents through the Help Desk Ticketing System related to iSeries / Power Systems activities. Interact with vendors, peers, and contractors to ensure secure, reliable systems implementations and upgrades are performed within project parameters. Monitor iSeries / Power System file systems shares and permissions. Monitor system performance, deliver system performance statistics and reports, and document server software and hardware configurations. Plan and implement software and hardware upgrades, patches (PTFs), and repairs. Ensure system backups are solvent and validated regularly as part of a disaster recovery. Maintain a proper test environment that reflects production issues. Safety is an essential function of this job. Consistent and regular attendance, including on‑call availability on a rotational basis, is an essential function of this job. Performs other related duties as assigned. Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States. Associate degree in MIS or a similar technical program, or acceptable industry and work experience. Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. Technical certifications (e.g., IBM System Administration 7.1+) preferred. 1 year experience in iSeries / Power Systems Administration. 1 year experience with iSeries / Power Systems access, utility, security & auditing applications including IBM Client Access, Director, Navigator, BRMS, iSecurity, Help Systems, absMessage, or related applications. Service oriented within a team environment, flexibly adapting to changes and adjusting priorities quickly without frequent oversight. Maintain a professional, neat and well‑groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned. Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation. Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts. Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts. Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel. Work in a fast‑paced and busy environment.
