Director, Technical Operations (Small Molecule Drug Product)

Director of Technical Operations for small molecule drug product manufacturing at a purpose-built U.S. site. This leadership role oversees technical operations, technology transfers, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while building and developing high-performing teams across a quality-focused facility.

Responsibilities

Oversee site-level product introductions and technology transfer execution with operations readiness focus
Serve as subject matter expert for equipment, facility systems, and technical troubleshooting
Lead technical problem-solving, regulatory responses, and audit readiness across the site
Monitor commercial performance, identify trends, and implement preventive actions
Build and develop technical teams with focus on capability development and succession planning

Requirements

Deep expertise in small molecule drug product manufacturing, equipment, and facility systems
Broad experience across product lifecycle including technology transfer and process validation
Strong GMP compliance knowledge and regulatory environment familiarity
Demonstrated leadership capability with cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience with process engineering, scale-up, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Proven ability to manage technical risk and drive continuous improvement initiatives
