React/Next.js Front End Developer

Requirements Must have: We want someone with professional experience in React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript. We look for hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Base UI, or Radix. We value experience building and testing with Storybook, including isolated component development. We expect experience creating reusable components, component libraries, or design systems. We need comfort working from Figma designs and design libraries. We prefer experience in web application development, CI/CD, performance tuning, and Agile delivery. We look for strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to align with peers. We value a positive, solutions-focused mindset, strong ownership, urgency, and self-direction. We need someone who is organized, self-managing, and comfortable in a highly iterative agile environment. We prefer experience with Jira, GitHub, and Git. We value experience working with remote teams, distributed organizations, enterprise software, or developer platform tools. We expect familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs. We look for testing experience with Jest, Vitest, Playwright, or Testing Library. We value accessibility knowledge, including WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML, and keyboard navigation. We prefer understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance optimization. We typically look for 3 to 7 years of technical experience. We require 5 years of Next.js/React experience, 3 years with Storybook, and 4 years with Figma. We require the ability to commute to Chicago, IL 60630, and work on-site. Responsibilities We build reusable React and Next.js UI components and integrate them into applications. We maintain the shared component library that other team members depend on. We create Storybook stories that reflect real-world states such as default, loading, error, empty, and edge cases. We design clear component APIs and document them so they can be reused effectively. We use TypeScript in our front-end development work. We translate Figma designs into responsive, accessible user interfaces. We collaborate closely between design and development teams. We optimize components for strong performance across a wide range of devices and browsers. We learn and incorporate user interaction patterns into our work. We help shape a flexible, well-structured front-end architecture. We develop features and enhancements in a secure, well-tested, and performant manner. We partner with Product Management and other stakeholders, including backend and UX teams, to refine new features. We review application requirements and interface designs. We build highly responsive UI components using React concepts. We write code that follows our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices in a high-scale web environment. We reinforce those standards through code review. We take on other related duties as assigned.
