Aircraft Sheet Metal TechnicianGMRE is currently recruiting for an Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. Position is contingent based on contract award.The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft.Roles and ResponsibilitiesRepair, fabricate, modify, reshape, and install aircraft sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.Follow blueprints, measure for correct alignment, cut sheet metal to size, drill holes, fasten members together by bolting, riveting, glue etc.Knowledge of sheet metal principles involved in aircraft and related equipment.Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and repair, concepts and application of maintenance directives.Possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.Why Work for GMRE?GMRE is a small veteran-owned company who cares about our employees. Must possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.Security Clearance RequirementsMust have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required.Physical RequirementsNormal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
