Embedded Firmware Engineer

Embedded Firmware EngineerSimbex is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop production firmware for next-generation IoT wearable devices. In this role, you will build embedded software for low-power connected systems, integrate sensors and wireless technologies, and collaborate closely with electrical engineers to bring new hardware platforms to life. You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, high-performance firmware for innovative wearable products.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded firmware using C/C+Develop firmware for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers using an RTOS (Zephyr preferred)Implement drivers and interfaces for peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and GPIOSupport board bring-up and hardware integration activitiesWireless & IoTDevelop Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) applications for device communication and configurationImplement over-the-air (OTA) firmware update capabilitiesSupport cloud connectivity using IoT communication protocols such as MQTT or CoAPOptimize firmware for low-power operationSensor IntegrationIntegrate IMUs and other embedded sensors into production firmwareSupport sensor fusion and motion-processing algorithmsCollaborate with algorithm developers to implement and optimize embedded solutionsTesting & QualityDevelop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testsTroubleshoot firmware and hardware integration issuesContribute to CI/CD workflows and software quality practicesMaintain technical documentation and support product verification activitiesRequired QualificationsBS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field3-6 years of embedded firmware development experienceStrong C/C++ programming skillsExperience developing firmware for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollersExperience with an RTOS (Zephyr preferred)Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, GPIO, and embedded peripheralsExperience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)Strong debugging and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Zephyr RTOSExperience with MCUboot or OTA firmware updatesExperience integrating IMUs or other motion sensorsFamiliarity with sensor fusion or embedded signal processingExperience with AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or similar cloud platformsExperience developing battery-powered or wearable IoT devices
