Pool Runner

It is the responsibility of the Pool Runner to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service; display salesmanship and friendly hospitality. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity). Responsibilities include attending pre-shift meetings, maintaining uniform appearance according to established guidelines, ensuring tables and trays are properly set, adhering to policies and procedures and health and liquor laws, knowing all menu service items, knowing locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to the guests, understanding of order taking and proper abbreviations used in food and beverage descriptions, communicating status of order to the Cashier or Manager on duty to ensure delivery is made by the specified time, having working knowledge of pre check and cashier procedures, serving all food and beverage orders to guests according to established Golden Nugget standards and procedures giving the best service possible in the least amount of time, resolving any additional guest requests, checking Cabana's and Pool area for un-used Room Service items, gathering these items and returning them to the Room Service area, relaying all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty, informing Pool Bar Porter of needed supplies, completing assigned side work, assisting with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment, turnover/takeover station according to established procedures, and completing special projects as requested by Pool Management.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include minimum six months previous Food Runner experience required in a high volume Pool operation, preferably in a Hotel/Casino environment with the ability to carry a tray overhead and or push tables, good people skills and a well-groomed appearance, ability to take menu orders from guests with proper abbreviations used in food descriptions, work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor environment, there are occasional hot and cold temperature changes, work with others in close spaces, moderate noise levels, walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet, obtain a Health Card and Union Referral Slip, minimum age requirement is 18, possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities, ability to read and understand all policies and procedures, ability to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities, and ability to complete standard forms and reports.
