Intake Specialist (6908)

Job Details: Job Location: DALLAS, TX 75201, Client Services Intake Coordinator, Part-Time The intake coordinator will work closely with the client services team as well as the other departments at the Stewpot. This position reports to the Director of Client services and the Manager of client services, who reports to the Executive Director of the Stewpot. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage intake list for casework, partner agencies (dental, SNAP, legal aid, Nexus, eye exams, Parkland, Metrocare, clothing) Pre-screen client for appropriate services. Client cannot sign up for Dental/Parkland and Casework/clothing. Communicating with caseworkers and partner agencies about clients on the intake list. It is important to keep the list moving and ensure it is being attended to by the caseworkers. Communicating to clients wait times, where to wait, what to listen for, and accommodating client’s needs as necessary. Explaining Stewpot services to clients (dates, times, details, etc.). It is important if the client does not make the list for the service they are seeking, that you provide detailed information of when they can return to try again. Referring clients to outside agencies and programs to meet client’s needs by providing directions, contact information and any other information on hand. If the client’s needs are too great to handle at the desk, please speak with a caseworker. Provide grievance forms and collect them for clients who express a concern regarding The Stewpot and Stewpot staff. You can also allow them to speak with the Director or Manager of client Services. Make copies & send faxes (up to 5 pages), and print directions as needed for clients and when time permits. Keep alert and aware of client area and client services area so as to alert police or other staff when necessary. Clients must be with a caseworker or other staff when in the casework services area. Maintain a quiet and respectful work environment at the front desk. Lock mail filing cabinets every day before leaving and put key back in drawer. Keep order with intake list and keep the flow of the work load moving. Additional Responsibilities When Not Assisting Clients with Questions/Intake Keeping stewpot services sheets up to date (eye exam, services, referral sheets) Maintaining toilet paper stock Help out with mail desk when needed Keeping front desk area clean and organized. Qualifications: REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Advanced education in social work related field is beneficial. Eager to be helpful, professional and kind.
