Warehouse Team leader

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for supporting and overseeing the daily warehouse operation to ensure product is received, stored, rotated, staged, and shipped accurately, safely, and efficiently. This position helps maintain inventory accuracy, supports customer dock sales activity, and ensures the warehouse remains clean, organized, and compliant with company procedures, food safety standards, and safety

Qualifications and Requirements
• Previous warehouse, inventory, produce, or food handling experience preferred.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities as needed.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Warehouse Operations

• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, staging, loading, and shipping products.
• Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Train, coach, and support warehouse employees in proper procedures, safety practices, and company expectations.
• Enforce company policies, food safety standards, and warehouse safety requirements.
• Communicate operational needs, staffing concerns, and workflow updates to management.

• Inventory & Product Control

• Maintain proper product rotation using FIFO practices.
• Monitor inventory levels, product quality, shrink, and product movement.
• Assist with physical counts, inventory adjustments, and discrepancy resolution.
• Ensure products are stored at proper temperatures and handled according to food safety requirements.
• Report shortages, overages, quality concerns, or inventory issues to management.

• Facility & Equipment

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, dock, and cooler area.
• Monitor cooler cleanliness, organization, and temperature logs.
• Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and report maintenance or facility concerns promptly.

• Dock Sales & Customer Support

• Assist walk-in customers and respond to customer inquiries as needed.
• Take customer orders, communicate product availability, and coordinate customer pickups.
• Generate invoices, process transactions, and collect payments when assigned.
• Work with sales, purchasing, drivers, and warehouse staff to support accurate and timely order fulfillment.

• Administrative Duties

• Complete required warehouse reports, inventory records, temperature logs, and operational documentation.
• Assist with scheduling, workflow planning, and labor coverage.
• Request and upload required documents such as BOLs, product invoices, freight invoices, and payment release paperwork as assigned.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce shrink, and support cost control.
