Job Title: Triage Pharmacy Technician Job Description

The Triage Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in supporting pharmacy operations by filling prescriptions, reviewing health insurance and prescription orders, and assisting customers both in person and over the phone. This position requires strong customer service skills, proficiency with electronic pharmacy systems, and the ability to accurately update patient information while troubleshooting issues that arise during the data entry and order fulfillment process.

• Fill prescriptions accurately and in accordance with established pharmacy procedures and regulations.
• Review health insurance and prescription orders to ensure completeness and accuracy before processing.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
• Process STAT orders efficiently to support urgent patient needs.
• Verify that all required information is complete and correct on each prescription prior to data entry.
• Communicate with facilities to inform them of any issues or discrepancies identified during the data entry process.
• Update patient profiles with all necessary information from prescriptions, ensuring allergies, therapies, and current medications are accurately recorded.
• Assist with locating lost or missed orders upon request and ensure timely resolution.
• Answer inbound phone calls from facilities and provide clear, helpful support.
• Use pharmacy computer systems to enter, review, and track prescription data and order status.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service.
• Apply effective problem-solving skills to resolve customer and facility concerns and prevent recurring issues.

• Pharmacy Technician experience with 2 or more years in a pharmacy setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in general pharmacy technician duties, including filling prescriptions and handling prescription orders.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and facility staff.
• Experience supporting customers over the phone, including handling inbound calls and providing troubleshooting assistance.
• Proficiency with electronic pharmacy programs and computer systems used for data entry and order management.
• Ability to verify prescription information and maintain accurate patient profiles, including allergies, therapies, and current medications.
• Solid problem-solving abilities with a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing STAT orders and routine prescriptions.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Pharmacy technician certification or equivalent credential, as required for pharmacy technician practice.

• Experience in a pharmacy setting that serves diverse community needs through multiple business lines.
• Background in pharmacy technician customer service, including resolving issues for patients and healthcare facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for addressing order discrepancies, lost or missed orders, and system-related issues.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and facility staff through clear communication and reliable support.
• Interest in professional growth, with openness to advancement opportunities based on performance.
• Comfort working with structured procedures and regulatory requirements in a pharmacy environment.

This is an on-site position in a community-focused pharmacy environment, not a remote role. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with one Saturday per month from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, the role includes one evening shift per week that extends until 8:00 p.m. The work involves regular use of electronic pharmacy programs, computer systems, phones, and other typical pharmacy equipment. Team members work closely with colleagues and healthcare facilities to support patient care, in a setting that values reliable service, accurate prescription handling, and opportunities for advancement based on performance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Green Bay,WI.
