Are you passionate about skincare and patient care? We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic dermatology practice with multiple offices in Indianapolis.

Key responsibilities may include:

Patient intake: Greeting patients, and taking medical histories.

Exam room preparation: Setting up exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensuring proper sanitation.

Assisting with procedures: Helping the dermatologist during skin exams, biopsies, mole removals, lesion excisions, and cosmetic procedures like Botox injections and chemical peels.

Specimen collection: Preparing and labeling skin samples for laboratory analysis.

Patient education: Informing patients about skin conditions, treatment options, post-procedure care instructions, and sun protection practices.

Scribing and Documentation: Accurately recording patient details, medical histories, examination findings, and treatment plans in electronic medical records.

Scheduling appointments: Managing patient schedules and coordinating follow-up appointments.

Inventory management: Maintaining medical supplies and ordering necessary medications and equipment.

Required skills:

Strong understanding of basic anatomy and skin conditions

Knowledge of medical terminology and proper documentation practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients effectively

Ability to perform clinical tasks like taking patient history and preparing patients for procedures

Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (NexTech, ModMed, Athena or Epic)
