Location: Tampa, FL — Hybrid

Blue Purpose is seeking a highly organized and resourceful Business Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day administrative and back-office functions of our growing company.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys wearing many hats, solving problems independently, and taking ownership of responsibilities from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping – QuickBooks knowledge, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
• HR - Coordinate payroll, employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits, employee records, background checks, and other HR administration.
• Business Operations - Manage business registrations, annual reports, sales tax registrations and filings, exemption certificates, licenses, and other compliance requirements.
• Legal – Assist with customer, vendor, and contractor agreements, including renewals, revisions, signatures, and coordination with legal counsel.
• Serve as a primary contact for vendors, contractors, attorneys, accountants, insurance providers, and other outside partners.
• Coordinate meetings, travel, schedules, and business activities as needed.
• Conduct business, vendor, regulatory, and operational research and provide clear recommendations.
• Maintain organized financial, legal, HR, contract, and compliance records.
• Handle special projects and the wide range of administrative and operational matters that arise in a small, growing business.

What We're Looking For

• QuickBooks and small-business bookkeeping is required.
• Working knowledge of AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll, and general financial administration.
• Experience in business operations, office management, administration, bookkeeping, or a similar broad-based role.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with attorneys, accountants, vendors, customers, employees, and government agencies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and handle confidential information.
• A self-starter who takes ownership and can figure out unfamiliar business issues without needing step-by-step direction.
