Assistant Manager I

Overview We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. Location Part‑time: 1788 Plainfield Pike, Cranston, Rhode Island 02921‑2042 Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas Perform opening and closing procedures as needed Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.) and any other store communications Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts) Ensure loss prevention measures and store asset security (including cash) Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal; keep all areas neat and presentable Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure associates do the same Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading, interpreting, and explaining operational directives required Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required Benefits Medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance Employee Assistance Program Retirement plans Educational assistance Additional wellness programs and resources We are an equal opportunity employer committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
