Iowa Athletic Club, a sports bar and made-from-scratch restaurant, is looking for Hosts/Food Runners to join our team. We’re located in the Iowa River Landing in Coralville, IA, right next to Xtream Arena.

We’re looking for dependable, team-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build hospitality experience, earn tips, and work alongside a supportive team.

Pay: Starting at $8.10/hour + tips, tipped out nightly.

Schedule: Part-time. Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends, including Sundays. Sunday availability is required. Holiday availability may also be needed based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome Guests warmly and help create a positive first impression.
• Seat Guests promptly, provide menus, and assist with the overall flow of the restaurant.
• Accurately estimate wait times and communicate updates to Guests.
• Create and manage the waitlist while helping ensure efficient and fair seating.
• Communicate with management, service staff, kitchen staff, and bussing staff to support smooth restaurant operations.
• Assist with phone inquiries, reservations, and to-go orders professionally and efficiently.
• Communicate accurate wait times, seating plans, and Guest needs to the appropriate team members.
• Reset and prepare tables quickly to help maximize seating availability.
• Assist with seating arrangements to support efficient restaurant flow.
• Monitor restroom cleanliness and help maintain clean and welcoming Guest areas.
• Assist with opening duties and help maintain an organized and professional restaurant environment.
• Deliver food to Guests promptly and accurately while ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
• Communicate with kitchen and service staff to help ensure accurate orders and timely delivery.
• Support team members with additional tasks as needed to keep restaurant operations running efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Sunday availability is required.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly and enthusiastic demeanor with a focus on creating a welcoming experience for Guests.
• Willingness to collaborate with the team and contribute to the overall Guest experience.
• Availability to work holidays as needed.
