Technology Support Specialist | Location: Kingston, RI | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $20-$28 Our client in Kingston, RI is seeking a dedicated Technology Support Specialist to enhance instructional technology services within their Teaching and Learning Services team. This role focuses on supporting faculty with educational technology tools, troubleshooting issues, and delivering professional development to optimize learning environments. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary support contact for end-users utilizing instructional technology, providing expert solutions and clear communication. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to educational technologies, including the Learning Management System (LMS). Develop and deliver training materials, including videos, knowledge base guides, and website content, to support faculty and staff. Host in-person and virtual support sessions to assist end-users effectively. Manage and resolve support tickets efficiently, ensuring timely issue resolution. Incorporate accessibility standards into tools and training programs, staying current with relevant laws and regulations. Collaborate with team members to assess user needs and support project tasks within budget and schedule constraints. Perform WordPress website updates and minor edits, creating promotional and informational materials using Adobe products. Troubleshoot and resolve technical errors in educational technologies, ensuring seamless user experiences. Support professional development initiatives and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications High School Diploma. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in written communication. Customer service experience and ability to work independently. Experience using content editing tools such as MS Word. Ability to adhere to institutional policies and communicate standards effectively. Ability to work with diverse groups and populations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Experience with project management tools. Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, hardware, and equipment. Experience supporting faculty in higher education settings.
