Test Engineer I

Provide technical laboratory support and perform testing in assigned disciplines for metallic and non-metallic materials Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, technicians, site quality leaders, vendors, suppliers, and external customers Develop and execute test plans based on internal and external customer requests, including mechanical testing Develop new testing capabilities by identifying equipment and resources, writing procedures, and ensuring compliance with quality system requirements Maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements Perform 5S activities Manage consumable inventory Receive and ship goods Report to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager Requirements Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics Experience working in a laboratory environment, with general understanding of laboratory safety and quality Knowledge of basic materials testing, such as mechanical, metallurgical, or chemical Experience or ability to read engineering specifications or drawings Experience or ability to write work instructions Knowledge and experience in one or more materials testing or analytical techniques, including wet chem, ICP, FTIR, tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography, gravimetric analysis, or viscosity testing Knowledge of Aerospace Quality Systems or regulatory requirements such as

, ISO17025, or Nadcap AC7101 or AC7108 Demonstrated ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and proactively develop solutions to move work forward Experience interfacing with customers to understand their needs and ability to execute to their desired timelines Ability to cope with a high demand environment where priorities change frequently and many jobs are being worked at the same time Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status holder under asylum or refugee status, or able to obtain export authorization Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in materials testing and laboratory operations, including mechanical testing and compliance with Aerospace Quality Systems.
