Overview Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is a multi-campus college located in Troy and Malta, NY. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs across three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Department Admissions Position Admissions Counselor HV-NTPI-8326 Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with experience in college admissions/post-secondary education or student services. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively within a 75-mile radius of HVCC and be able to lift and manage boxes of admission materials. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required as part of this position. Duties and Responsibilities Work directly with high school counselors in the College’s service area and the surrounding counties to coordinate group visits, develop and organize on- and off-campus recruitment events, and develop strategies to increase applicants to underrepresented programs. Experience and/or awareness of recruitment of international/foreign-born populations is preferred. Develop a working knowledge of all HVCC academic programs and the entry prerequisites for each program. Outreach to area high schools for classroom presentations in conjunction with academic departments. Review international documents and applications. Coordinate technology and/or group tours. Assist the Admissions Office with on- and off-campus admission events. Conduct admissions informational meetings/presentations for parents and student groups both on and off campus. Some non-traditional hours and weekends are required. Serve as the liaison between Admissions and designated campus offices. Develop working knowledge of BANNER CRM Recruit, review files, and enter decisions. Maintain membership in professional education-related organizations. Assist other offices within the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Development as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a 12-month, full-time position with a salary range of $42,000–$44,000.
