This position will perform a wide variety of duties and activities to enforce the City's parking ordinances with keen attention to detail while supporting community relations. See the full potential of growth for this position here: 2026 Salary ScheduleAs a Parking Enforcement Officer I, you will:Enforce the City's parking ordinances by issuing citations to offendersMonitor driveways, fire hydrant areas, crosswalks, school zones, and other areas to ensure parking ordinance complianceMaintain effective working relationships with merchants and residence of assigned patrol areas, answering questions, interpreting and explaining city policiesTestify in court as requiredMaintain assigned vehicle and specialized equipmentRespond to abandoned vehicle complaints and initiate impoundment of vehicles in the City's lots and on-street locationsAssist with Special Events as neededOther duties as assignedA successful candidate will demonstrate: Knowledge of: Parking enforcement or parking and mobility field, Using software programs to support operations, Interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with the community. Ability to: Work independently with minimal direct supervision, Portray dedication to pass effective judgments, Have keen attention to detailMinimum QualificationsEquivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)One year of full-time, professional experience in a related fieldPossess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver's license not subject to restrictionsPreferred QualificationsThe following qualifications are not required, but they are considered desirable.
